Sore for more than 2 days after first workout. I had my first beginner routine this last Saturday and here it is on Tuesday and my arms are very, very sore. I pretty sure it’s from the 3×5 negative pullups (as others have stated). I’m hesitant to go for round 2 in keeping with the 3 days a week routine. Is this correct?

Yes if you’re newer to exercise in general you’ll be sore after exercise Yes if you’re new to a different workout routine that has new/ different body movements than your body is used to doing then you will be sore after.

DOMS (Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness) often doesn’t appear until the 2nd day after working out and can last anywhere from a few to several days, especially when new to working out or after a break. Structure your workout plan so that you are working each body part three days after having worked it last.

Still Sore After 2 Days Should I Workout Reddit

But when does this motivational mantra become more harmful than helpful? Might be worth do some foam rolling work after your workout (after stretching) too. Help break up the tissue. Personally, even after 2 years of very consistent workouts, i can still get very sore for days if i do a new exercise for too much volume. I’d say ease off on the volume, increase volume gradually, strecth and foam roll if possble. .
